How the Dow Jones Industrial Typical Fared on Friday

A setback in talks in between Greece and its creditors helped knock the stock market place lower on Friday amid renewed concerns that the country could default on its debts. The losses have been modest but broad: All 30 companies in the Dow and all ten industries in the S&P 500 completed with losses.

For the day:

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 140.53 points, or .8 percent, to 17,898.84.

The Typical & Poor’s 500 index declined 14.75 points, or .7 %, to 2,094.11.

The Nasdaq composite slipped 31.41 points, or .six percent, to 5,051.10.

For the week:

The Dow is up 49.38 points, or .3 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 1.28 points, or .1 %.

The Nasdaq is down 17.36 points, or .3 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is up 75.77 points, or .four %.

The S&P 500 index is up 35.21 points, or 1.7 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 315.05 points, or 6.7 %.
