One Boy Killed, Three People Seriously Injured In Crash On I-94 In Libertyville,

(CBS) — One boy was killed and three people, including another boy, were seriously injured after an SUV struck a median wall on I-94 in Libertyville Saturday morning, state police said.

Police said both boys, ages 10 and 11, were ejected from the vehicle and were transported to Condell Hospital in serious condition, where the 10-year-old later died.

Another child and four adults were also in the car and two of the adults were transported to Vista Medical Center in Waukegan with serious injuries.

The accident happened at 9:35 a.m. near mile marker 12 and all northbound lanes were shutdown but reopened shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was cited for improper lane usage and child restrain violations.
